T P Lewis father was "Texas" Ted Lewis, also father of Dorothy Lewis Hill, wife of Bill Hill and mother of Allan C. Hill. She reides here in Sarasota and was an accomplished horsewoman. Ted Lewis was Cowboy,horsetrainer,equs. director for many years with Ray Rogers Circuses. T.P. was killed in an unfortunate incident by some local rowdies in Ojus, FL. just days before the Cole Show train departed for Chicago opening. Very sad.
Owner Ray Rogers daughter , Norma, was married to Lonr Ranger,Lee Powell, and also to Mac MacDonald. Her sister, Helene was The lifetime wife of Johnny Hartzell Sr. All great American circus people.
