Showfolks!

Quite a few elephant guys at the club last night, myself, John Herriott, Joe and Terry Frisco, Bill and Billy Morris, Roy Wells, Chip Arthur, Louie Del Moral, Lance Ramos, Darryl Atkinson, Frank Murray and Lee Keener whom I hadn't seen in twenty years and is included in the Jimmy Cole picture above.
The show was very good and well attended. The performance was directed by Cindi Wells and also appearing from her family were Laura Herriott and her two sons John and Jason.
In brief, we saw Rosaire's bears, Dallas Zoppe's dogs, Suzanne Vidbel's cloud swing, Adam Estoban's bounding rope, a wheel of death, motor cycle up the incline and the George Hanneford elephants presented by Kathy and George Jr.
Had a nice visit with George Pages and had the pleasure of congratulating his two lovely daughters.
A goodly number of our Blog Contributors on hand including Jimmy Cole, Darryl Atkinson, Jim Elliott, Bill Strong, Buddy Copeland and Sue Lenz. Posted by Picasa

Buckles ---

When PT Barnum was an active owner in the Barnum & Bailey Circus, did that show feature 3 rings of performing elephants? And would you know about how many elephants the show carried back then?
Thank you. --- ToddP

Buckles,
Is this the George Hanneford act working, and if so who is the male? I never knew they had a male.

These are the Tony Diano elephants worked by Lee Keener at the Hubert Castle Shrine date in Utica, NY 1965.

ToddP,
In 1884 the Barnum & London Show carried about 18 elephants (including Jumbo)

The program states:
Ring 1
Barnum Elephants (small elephants)
Presented by William Newman

Center Ring (clown elephant)
Presented by William Conrad

Ring 3
London Elephants (large elephants)
Presented by George Arstingstall

Do the Hannefords still have the mall show in FL? I had heard they didn't. Did Cathy perform her hoofstock act as well then?

No, she just flew in to help with the elephant act. In fact I was told the flight was late and she had to put on her show makeup on the way from the Air Port.
