the ride on he hippo is part of the act, this is Circo Barley in Mexico, they feed the hippo some lettuce and bread and then they invite a "couple" of kids for the ride. The hippo is been on the show for several years, it is very, very good animal.

We read a lot about animals being sold to Mexico. I would love to see more pictures of some of these circuses. I do have an alternative reason to see these circuses as you all know. We have quite a few Mexican friends performing here in the states, but very few animal acts from Mexico. Is it one of those USDA things?

If I am not mistaken, didn't Kenny used to travel with one of the circuses? I think Buckles introduced us in Denver. Kenny was in the office.

When I left the Ringling show I went to the Central Florida Zoo to work with Sobic an asian male that was kicking the crap out of the keepers there. Buckles had broke him and they had him in a pen with a hippo. Never liked having that hippo in the pen with me while I worked the elephant.

Just had a hippo baby born on christmas day last year at our zoo. Do you think AZA will let me try this? I bet you that hippo is pretty healthy because it works instead of floating in a pool all day
