Tall blond, good looking!! Has to be BUCKLES
is that patty zerbini for sure,,,,,it looks alot like carolyn rice
No, the other tall, good looking guy way in the background. A man truly out standing in his field.
This picture was taken at the Tampa Fairgrounds during the 1994 rehearsals. Ted would ask me to come down when he was putting the new acts together but I preferred to stay away from the picture taking.
As it turned out, Ted was killed about a month later in the train wreck and I returned to the show.
I finished out the season and part of the next and the only plesant memory that comes to mind is meeting the Chipperfield boys.
Mr. Woodcock, would that be Zerbini's Luke or Tommy (King Tusk)?
good picture
King Tusk.
buckles,
I set this shot up. This was the only year we had all the elephants from both units in one place. We lined them up about 500 feet from my office on the Florida State Fairgrounds around noon. I got Heinz Klutmeier, the world famous Sports Illustrated photographer to do the shoot. It was all over in 30 minutes. Once in a lifetime moment. There is a panoramic shot hanging in the main Ringling office in Virginia. I have a smaller on in my office with just me next to Tommy and herd.
Bill Powell
I would have guessed that the photo was set up by the world famous advance man, Bill Powell. I living legend of the PR business
A living legend complementing a living legend. THAT'S what it should be all about. Best wishes to you both. Wade Burck
When I joined RBBB in 1970 and brought the three elephants I had in Baraboo both shows were in Venice and Mr. Feld was giddy over having 39 elephants all together and he had a photographer come out and we brought all the elephants out in the back area of the arena for a photo. Red show herd sauting in front a nd blue show long mounting behind. Never saw the photos, but maybe Art Richtor or Frank Curry could comment if it was part of their press kit. Right about that time Irvin bought Karin, named after his daughter, for the blue show and he was now satisfied to have 20 elephants on each show. This was before Mattel and during the Feld-Hofheinz days. There would be numerous times down in Venice when both herds would be encamped there.
In 73 in Venice we had Red, Blue and the Circus World elephants on the grounds at one time.
