I have seen Photos of the Wallenda's in "sailor" wardrobe, also various comedy acrobatic acts.
I'm sure that this Navy wardrobe had a lot to do with WWII being on. Could this have been special wardrobe for perhaps a patriotic themed spec, rather than the riding act?

Wardrobe or were they both in the Navy?
I wondered about that myself.
Joey was still with the Ringling Show when we joined in 1978.

You are right, it comes to me now.
The following year they had a Statuary Act with a patriotic theme. My mother wore a Navy "Wave" uniform.
That is Joe Sr. and son Tommy. I believe Joey was in the service at that time.
