(Trouble again completing pictures)

Hi Buckles-I'm the youngest of the Johnny and Helene Hartzell boys, I don't believe we were on the same lot since the Sid and Lovie days (James Bros.) or maybe the Charlie Germaine days (Miller-Johnson). It's been a while.
I ran across your blog a while back while doing an internet search for La Tosca. I immediately subscribed and now look forward to every new post. Incidently, I'm married to Tosca Cannestrelli's daughter Lisa. Twenty eight-eight years now since we tied the knot.
As I know your family had a history on Ray Rogers Shows (my grandfather) I thought you might be interested in the attached photo. It's always been one of my favorites.

To Mr. Ross Hartzell, Have you ever seen the video tape of the 1950's TV show "SUPER CIRCUS" that has the Flying Hartzell's on it? At that time the flyers were Willie & Annie Edelston. Mr. Edelston is now a training coach at the Sailor youth Circus in Sarasota. I have a copy of this tape, and would be happy to make you a copy. There is another episode of that tv show that has Fred & Ortans Canestrelli.

Ross and Buckles. Today you have just unrolled a majic carpet of circus memories for both Mary Ruth and I in so many ways of the times that were spent in every part of our careers in this business. The impact of the people Ray Rogers brougtht into this business and the number of them is the history of the American circus. I hope Tommy Bentley sees this. Its great and I could comment forever. Thanks.

Thanks for the tip, 24-Hour Man. It's quite a lot scene. I remember with amusement how Bert Pettus told me, "For awhile there, I was one of the Barnet Bros."

Hi Mr. Cole,

I'd be tickled to death to get a copy of that video. I'm sure it would bring back many memories of my youth. My oldest brother John who is no longer with us, of course had a substantial amount of old movie film, but unfortunately it was stolen from him many years ago durring a robbery.
Here is my email: www.thehartzells@mac.com
I'd be very happy to pay for any expense.
Many sincere thanks. Ross Hartzell

To Ross and Lisa Hartzell, I'm writing a book about one of the U.S. Army camps in California during World War II. During the war, La Tosca performed at this camp with the Benny Fox "Star Spangled Circus."

I would be thrilled to help keep her memory alive and to educate the young generation about her amazing skills on the bounding rope, by including a photo of her in my book. Buckles posted a picture of La Tosca in his Oct 2006 blog, and I'm assuming he got it from you.

It would be great to hear from you. I'd like to tell you more about my book project, and to find out how I may get a photo of La Tosca. Please contact me at: rick4u2k@hotmail.com. Thank you!
