Shorty Sylvester and "Jargo". This might well be the Silverlake's Jargo suit that I remember from Robbins Bros. Circus in 1949. They always did this number while they struck the steel for Gladys Gillum's lion act. Marcus in the front and Franklin in the back. Their father Brownie always opened the act with "Tie him up and turn him loose!". On one occasion, for some unknown reason, Miss Gillum while passing as she exited the tent, said "Hi Jargo you son of a bitch!" and shot him on the butt with her blank gun. The suit immediately ignited and Franklin was briefly hospitalized.
Notice the light plant in the background.
