Rowe Bros. Circus 1940 #2


Archie Silverlake and Raymond Duke in back and Shorty and Peggy Sylvester in front.
Mr. Silverlake, of course, is the great grandfather of Brad Timberlake, one of Ken & Nicole's high-steppin' promoters.

Off the subject but I have heard from several people that Catskill Game Farm will close it's doors for good after this season.

There are stories that Peggy Sylvester, at least on the Beatty show, was like a mother to the workingmen and would hold their bankrolls for them. I never knew the Sylvesters. Anyone out there have an account with Peggy?

The Sylvesters were on Kelly Miller the two years I was there. Busy, busy lady. I only had one serious chat with her and that was girl talk. I can not remember seeing either one of them out of make up. She was nice once you get aquainted.

If the TV show "Mayberry" had been little people I would have cast Peggy as "Aunt Bea".
