Zellmar Bros. Circus 1926 #1

I don't know when George Engesser took his first show out but as an early motorized circus in 1926 it looks to be a pretty good sized affair already. More musicians here than with RBBB today.
It was titled Zellmar Bros. but was changed to Schell Bros. Circus in 1928.

the notes I have on Enge
sser are
1925 there is some referance to Clarion Bros but have not found any information other than that have been told it might have been a name he used to frame the Zellmar show which started in 1926 and ran thru 1928 in 1929 it was renamed Schell Bros and ran till 1936
in 1926 in consisted of 34 trucks 64 people 4 cages one elephant (Ruth) about 20 head stock and was a two ring circus

in 1927 the show was increaced to 54 trucks 15 head of horses, elephants, camels and 33 head of ponies 11 cages, dogs and goats and a 7 1/2KW geneneator
about this time Hoxie worked for Engesser as did Herbert Casetl
another note was they were the first circus to carry a elepant by truck

If you need the actual skinney on Zellmar or Schell Bros., why not ask Gee Gee?!!

Buckles, how is Gee Gee related to John Herriot. There's a family connection isn't there?

George Engesser, father of Gee Gee, was John Herriott's uncle.

According to Robert Parkinson's Directory of American Circuses, Clarion Bros. was the 1925 title used.
