Beatty-Cole Elephants 1968 #1

This set of pictures from Eric Beheim of the Aladdin Shrine Circus taken in Columbus at the State Fairgrounds in 1968.
Just up from Florida, the rolling stock is freshly painted. The truck in the foreground might be for the Cristiani horses.

These tractors look suspiciously like the ones of '64. Bill Gheens was Boss Mechanic then, and he ruled his department with an iron fist, but he kept his trucks on the arrows. No wonder they lasted so long.

The Cristiani's horse truck was driven by Francis Doran, the Sword Swallower, and to his perpetual consternation, Bill Gheens had the truck governed to 40 mph.
