Sarasota Quarters 1956-57 #3

This is Ed Healy and Benny White who worked the two end ring elephant acts. They are in the process of trimming feet, the elephants will mount the tub making their feet more accessable. In fact the shavings from their toe nails can be seen on the ground.

Buckles, where's their rasps and knifes? If you click on the picture to enlarge you can read at least two elephants names written on the back wall. Minyak looks like on a Modoc the other? Winter Quarters must have been open to the public back then? The nursery look like it could have been at CW.

I first met Benny White when was with Rex on Beatty-Cole.

Somewhat off-track, but no other good place to put this today. John Wayne and Bob Fellows' Batjac film company is now releasing "The Batjac Suspense Collection" at $49 for the set and $15 each.

Included are Clyde Beatty's last film, RING OF FEAR. With this selection for the collection, featuring a fighting wild animal act, we see that no one at Batjac or Paramount seemed concerned about the activists.

The other entries in the set are PLUNDER OF THE SUN, with Glenn Ford, TRACK OF THE CAT, starring Robert Mitchum, and William Campbell in MAN IN THE VAULT.

hey buckles,

i guess there weren't any dogs around the barn; mine seem to love the nail clippings, for some ungodly reason.

i hope alberto isn't giving you too much grief over on the west coast.

hey shannon, thanks for hiding those bird watching binoculars!

I used to give my pets Cow Hooves to chew on, they loved them also. I discovered that they crack the teeth. I now get the shaving to sprinkle on the food of picky eaters. I do give the hooves to puppys that are teething. Must be the proteen that they love. I would bet what kinds of "BIRDS" Buckles would watch!!!

I am dogs best friend because when I trim and shoe horses everyday I leave a pile of hoof trimmings and the dogs all love me for it!

Gary, it's a farrier's duty to treat any dogs on the place. Our farrier was here yesterday, he loves doing Joanne's little 24" pony. He fell backwards on the foot rest, (the farrier) & we had a big joke over whether it would have been better to leave it in, or take it out on the way to emergency.
