Dailey Bros. Circus 1948 #1

Lined up for Spec, that's Arumi Singh with "Baby Butch" named for Butch Cohen. Each elephant wore a bell with the larger ones being more like cow bells.

I took Barbara to see her Eye Doctor yesterday afternoon and we had dinner while down town. On our return I was surprised to see that Shannon had already made some changes on the Blog Site. I'm not quite sure how it works but all incoming messages are supposed to come diectly to me rather than the site. That way I can delete anything I consider out of line.
So if you send a message and it doesn't appear right away, it probably means I'm out mowing the lawn.

What? And take all the fun out of all these animal rights and kooks.

I wonder what the purpose of the bells was. In the logging camps, I can see it as the elephants are released into the jungle at night and the handlers have to round them up in the morning to go to work. But in a circus I'd guess you'd know where all stock is at any time.

Since Dailey Bros. was a railroad show and marched the animals back and forth from the train each day, the main reason for the bells was to create as much disturbance as possible.
