The MGM studio Elephants 1937-1946
Whitbeck& Emerson act
"Happy"
"Queen"
"Sallie"
According to Don Marcks Circus Report/Elephant History published in 1993, Whitbeck&Emerson's, Sallie and Queen were different elephants from the Louis Goebel's Sally and Queen.
Tommy Hanneford used to say "I don't care how big an arena show is, it's the tent that's the magic".
Notice the picture of the elephant stretched out and the kids on it's back.
I just wanted to add(if anyone is interested)
concerning the MGM studio elephants, trained by George Emerson.
Sally
Happy
Queenie.
They were babies recently brought from Siam, and appeared in the Tarzan movies, such as Tarzan's Secret Treasure and Tarzan's New York Adventure.
You can also see Sally,Happy and Queenie,in the Judy Garland movie
TILL THE CLOUDS ROLL BY(1947)
In 1948 they were leased to the Polack Bros.circus and trained by James(Slivers)Madison, with help by his wife Josephine and bull man Frenchy Durant. In 1948,the elephants ages were 11.12 and 13 years old.
also a brief walk on appearence by Sally,Happy and Queenie in the movie
HIGH BARABEE(1937) with Van Johnson.
