After Bailey's triumphal return to the U.S. this is a picture of the big top interior in 1905.

This is a very interesting photo.
A time that I enjoyed being in.
( the early bird - for what ever the reason )

Like being in place & prepared to watch the sunrise come up out of the Ocean, in mid summer, in New Jersey, beginning the perfect day.

Buckles you have such fine documentation of so many aspects of the Circus - it's just amazing !

Someone paint Little John's picture? Did I miss something somewhere? I have old pictures of LJ or I should say my ex-wife has them! Somebody show them again???

Richard Reynolds says - -

This depicts the very heavy grandstand that Bailey tried out. It was the first effort to provide comfortable seating for circus patrons and was ahead of its time. The seating proved too heavy to move with attendant delays in getting the show up and down. Bailey was an innovator.
