For some long forgotten reason, we did a parade thru the park, this is one of the little wagons that we unloaded off the train during the performance of "The Day the Circus came to town". As mentioned, this show was put together by the Grand Old Opry people out of Nashville and had a story line but much more elaborate then the one seen today with the "Incredible Shrinking Show". For some reason, at the time both Irvin and Kenneth Feld despised the idea, today it is revolutionary. Seen at right leading "Peggy" is Gary H. and riding is the "little girl" in the story having been transformed from being local moppet. Gary, isn't this the alternate? What was her name? And finally, partially hidden behind the wagon at left and working the hand brake, our friend and contributor Bud C.
By the way I received an eMail from Ellie Potts yesterday whom you may remember was a dancer in this show. She said she came across my Blog Site purely by accident and sends greetings to all.

Yes Buckles, I think Mickey was sick or maybe dayoff? The sub was a Dancer also but can't remember her name? I'd bet Miss Elle knows her name? Hello to you Ellie! Best, Gary
Buckles is that a blinder on your elephant or a less revealing "wardrobe malfunction " than we are now accustomed to??
No, it must have been a windy day and part of the blanket's headpiece had flipped over.
Barbara says there were two show girls named Lynn. This is "Little" Lynn and because of her diminutive size could pass for a kid on Mickey's day off.
Who played the Clown Fairy on her brother's day off?
"Who played the Clown Fairy on her brother's day off?"
I have my suspicions... OK, for $100... Any clown from the Blue Show!?!
When this photo was taken ( after Mickey & the original Clown Fairy ) the lovely Cindy Mayson ( pictured here ) became the little girl working with Bill Lang the Clown Fairy, who was Gina the lead Dancers husband. Little Lynn was Lynn Tate. There were 2 Cindys also. We all loved that parade, hea Buck, especially by July & August! Hello Ellie, Gary , Little John etc. Where's Antonio Hoyos! - Bud
Hi Buckles,
How cool to see my name on your blog!! I can't really tell, but the girl may be Caren or Cindy.
and...hey, Gary!!!!
Yes I remember Bill played the Clown Fairy. Can't for the life of me remember the brothers name? How have you been Miss Ellie and what r u doing now? Gary
I have one of those old Mugs that they sold at CW and had lots of pictures of all of us on the inside. The dancer, Cindy is on the mug riding Anna May! If you remember that morning neither Mickey or Cindy was there for the shoot. Lou Ann Busch, my old girlfriend was recruited because she was the same size. They took the shot and Cindy showed up and was pissed off so they reshot it with her! Crazy the things I'm remembering about CW? Gary
Hey Bud,
I did some research on the Clown College Groups page and this is the latest on Antonio....
Last I knew Antonio was working with Steve Daly (Hinrichs) in V-The Ultimate Variety Show in
Las Vegas. They were doing a Sonny and Cher parody and I think they are working on or
have started to perform their magic act called "The Blunders" which is a husband (Antonio)
and wife (Steve in Drag) comedy magic act. From what I can tell it is pretty funny. They are
both very talented and funny so I'm sure it is. They just debuted The Blunders about 4-5
months ago, if I recall, at a magic convention somewhere out on the west coast....
BTW my partner Mark and I met Antonio the day he got off the boat. We taught him his first English. "What's Happening?" It came out "Wha Hoppin!"
RE/ Antonio,
I should have read ALL my mail before posting. This just in from Toto...
I know of at least one project he is involved in. He is in the TV show "Mind Freak" featuring magician Cris Angel.
Ron ,when is this show on? Thanks, Gary
Clownron ;
Thanks for your energy & info reguarding Antonio.
I don't know off hand. Maybe a google search?
Buckles!
Re-living Circus World through your photos is great. The 'little girl' alternate's name is Cindy Mason. A tiny, petite, charmer with a broad smile and long golden hair. Before joining the cast at CW she portrayed ALICE at Disney.
