Ringling Park 1976 #1

The thing that made this show unique was the prologue. Here we see the local kids arising to discover this beautiful stand of paper but the ensuing excitement is dampened when they all discover that the little girl at left has no money and will be unable to attend.

I might remind newcomers that with two clicks these pictures can be enlarged a bit.

You know, I first thought that the reason the Felds hated this show so badly was because it was set in a time frame when the show was still under canvas. A period they would be totally unfamiliar with and hardly expected to promote but I have finally come to the conclusion it was simply a matter of ego.

This venue was my starting gate.It was state of the art facility, actualy a Fine Broadway Show/Circus - but in rural Fla. If a healthy railroad line accessed the facility I believe it would still be there stronger than ever along with the design at that time of Winter Quarters. I have the brochure of its plans. I'm also amazed by the then predicted grouth of Orlando & its suroundings. Personaly - I could't see that comming !

The last show at the Circus Day Theater was in May of 1986, I’m not absolutely sure of the month, but May sounds right. The cast was lead to believe that with the new owners it would be business as usual, but the next day we all came to work to find the park closed. The party at Ho Jo’s started at about 9:30 that morning, and the press arrived at about Noon --right about the time when we taped another keg.
