Four good elephant tricks/William Philadelphia

This was Hugo Schmitt's mentor at the Hagenbeck Tierpark in Germany.

For the benefit of the viewers recently added I thought I would back up a bit and show a few stunts that impressed me.

So that's Philadelphia ? That's quite a photo - I recall you rehersing a Large Silvertipped Brown Bear( " Chloe ", no how'dah only a post with handlebars - so to speak ! ) riding an African Elephant(?), with stainless steel caps on his ivory ? and BIG ears !!! A very impressive look parading through " Opening " and a feat in itself I believe - A - ?

Did Carl Hagenbeck really have a elephant trainers school in Hamburg
back around the turn of the Century?
Who taught William Philadelphia?
Mahouts from India?
I read where all the records of the Hagenbeck gardens tierpark were destroyed by bombs during WWII.
