Calliopes #3

What a beautiful vehicle.
Written on the back is "Last on the road in 1925 with Hagenback-Wallace. Probably destroyed by fire in 1926 at the John Robinson quarters in West Baden, Ind.

One thing tho, regarding the item at left, I know a donniker top when I see one.

Sometimes a Donniker was a beautiful sight!!! I wonder why they were never painted up real pretty. If I remember right the one on Kelly Miller in the 60s was plain green. Was this one in the picture open to the public? I also never noticed a flag flying over a Donniker. Also was there a his and hers?

Mr. Woodcock, this question has nothing to do with this photo other then the John Roninson show.
My question is concerning the photo posted last month John Robinson parade #4.
Was the tusked male "Tommy" of the John Robinson
herd, formely "Tommy Lockhart" of the famous Lockhart elephant act
that had been with the Ringling Bros. Show?
The reason I ask is because someone
posted a question over at www.circushistory.org
discussion board(question #788)
asking whatever became of the males of the Lockhart elephant act.
