Big Modoc #3

Now with "The Greatest Show on Earth" we see her doing her "eccentric" dance down the front track. She was a very willing worker and someone would simply send her off and she would shuffle on down the track alone and a second party would stop her at the other end of the tent and take her back to the menagerie.

She was one beautiful elephant! Would have loved to have seen this. I always liked the vasoline around the eyes. When I did Margrets, she almost purred. I loved that old elephant. I have two faded pictures of us together that I chairish(sic)

Yes they did, it was 1933 a season declared to be the 50th Anniversary of the Ringling's circus career and called their "Golden Jubilee".
Not only was Modoc painted gold but the lady riding her as well.
