Hugo Winter Qtrs. 1953/ Cole & Walter elephants

These are the three elephants that went to Herb Walters show, Cole & Walters Circus. In the practice ring we see Herb's daughter Shirley and the herd worker is Lee Crawford.
The elephants are "Jess", "Daisy" and "Mabel". Jess had been a long time RBBB elephant, Daisy started out as a punk with the Gollmar Show and later with Christy Bros. Circus and Mabel was with such Shows as Robbins Bros., Seal Bros., Parker & Watts and Hamid-Morton.

Were all three of these bulls w-Herb Walters throughout his post-1950 circus career? I remember Jess from Clark & Walters in the mid-60s and have some recollection of Mabel from Famous Cole.
Also, which Herb Walters bulls did the "restaurant" act? It was part of the Famous Cole elephant for years.
Thanks. Paulh

The first year for that show was 1950 and my dad sent three old cows that most anyone could work "Jess", "Vic" and "Daisy" he also a included a punk they named "Norma" that my dad had trained to do the dinner table routine.
"Vic' (Victoria) died in 1952 and the next year Mable was her replacement. In 1954 Mabel went to Jack Moore (Tex Carson Circus) and the show (now called Famous Cole) was reduced to three. In 1956 Daisy was replaced by Myrtle and as long as Walters owned the show (now called Geo. W. Cole Circus) into the 1960's his elephants were "Jess", "Myrtle" and "Norma". As I"m sure you know "Norma" was killed by a bolt of lightning after the Silverlakes bought the show.

Thanks. Yup, it comes back now that Famous Cole had Jess, Myrtle and Norma. By the time Herb had Clark & Walters, it was Jess, Norma and Dixie. I remember the latter two from when the Silverlakes had that show.
