Riddle Elephant Sanctuary #1

I just got these wonderful pictures from Scott Riddle yesterday, this is Anna May's grave site. The lady employees there embellished her tombstone with a large star and they were right, a star she was.

The only other picture that comes close to the beauty of this one is the one you say is your favorite. Barbara in Anna Mays arm. Both too beautiful for words.

Uncle Buckles,
I'm so sad to hear of Anna Mae's passing. What a great lady she was! And yes a star in her own right. I know you and aunt Barbara loved her very much.
Love,
Emmy

I took the Jungleland Fighting Lions out of Thousand Oaks for one of the brief James Bros. tours, and lamented before one matinee that I had 10 years on circuses and had never ridden an elephant. For the night show, Buckles brought up Anna May for me to ride in for my entrance. I am honored to have known her. Rest in peace, gentle star. Roger

Anna Mae was a fine lady and I was glad to have met her.
