Buzzy Potts

My mother left a lot of big scrap books in which she pasted articles out of Sunday papers. The only bad thing was that she might only include pictures and not the text making the date difficult to identify. This is a good example showing about ten well known Ringling clowns which I would guess to be in the 1940's. Buckles

When I was a child in the early sixties, my dad introduced me to a man at the Durham County Rest Home in Braggtown. The man told me he used to be a clown for Ringling Brothers Circus. He would do majic tricks, or "prestidigitation" for my entertainment. I visited him in his room, and showed me all of his clown paintings. Before he died, he gave me some of his art supplies, because I liked to draw and paint. I still use a table easle he gave me.
