Correction, the Mack truck was not that durable. They were constantly breaking down and often needed maintenance. I remember back on the RBBB many times when these trucks were as good a paper weight.
Kevin,
What's your background? I remember all the heavy equipment for the circus for RBBB only used these Mack trucks.
RBBB used these truck into the 30's and were backbone in moving equipment from the train to the circus grounds.
The first time I saw Buckles and Barbara, they were pulling onto the Hugo Winter Quarters. Buckles was driving a brand new green Mack truck (SEMI) I noticed because it was the only new, shiny un dented truck (SEMI) there. This was in 61 I think.
This trucks were wonderful. I drove them for RBBB in 55-61. I also did clown acts for RBBB until 81. I loved those trucks. Sorry, Chris but those trucks saved a lot of time and energy.
