Some developer purchased this

entire building which has the

Palace Theater along with the

DoubleTree Hotel & applied for

City approval of a hairbrain

scheme to raise the historic

structure about 40' of height

to have the theater's several

levels to begin 3 stories up

Very unlikely in my lifetime

The Palace which is Nederlander's

Jewel in their crown of theaters

was restored elegantly in 1999

just prior to Disney's "Aida"

the Elton John Broadway musical

opening which I happened to work

on in NY as well as several tours

& also several foreign countries

The Palace is the 2nd largest Broadway

theater behind the Gershwin & ahead of

the Broadway & the New Amsterdam

The Booth is smallest truly legit house

with a mere 780 seats other smaller

theaters are called "Middle Houses"

but have recently become "considered"
