May she rest in peace. She knew how to style in the ring and in life as well. Her energy, enthusiasm, and devotion to family and circus made us all honored to have known her. Our deepest condolences to Buckles, Dalilah, and Shannon.
My condolences to Buckles, Shannon, Delilah, and the Ray Family. Barbara's gifts of circus talent brought her from humble early seasons to the heights of Center Ring stardom. She rose above them all to become and forever remain our iconic Empress of the Elephants. Her solo spot on the Big Lot will shine brightly to show us the way.
Such sad news. Our condolences and prayers for Barbara's family and friends everywhere. From Robert "Bob" Kellogg and family. Many fond memories to share.
So sad to hear of the passing of Barbara Woodcock, with whom I became familiar via this wonderful circus blog. Could someone possibly post the link to an obituary, if possible. My condolences to the Woodcock and Ray families.
I am saddened beyond words to know that Barbara is gone. But she is now back with her Mom, Lalea, and Dad, Ruben, and son, Ben. I had the pleasure and honor of knowing all of them - as far back as 1956. Barbara and little Ben spent the summer with us (and her folks) at the Rare Bird & Animal Farm, in Fairlee, VT. Her Mom trained my "Queenie" and taught me how to perform with her. We went on to perform in many specialty circuses, amusement parks, fairs, etc. and even going to Caracas, Venezuela to work on the Circo Razzore back in 1960. Barbara made my first real "circus" costume (which I still have to this day). She also taught me a routine on the trapeze which we incorporated into the many "shows" that we put on during summers, at the "Farm". The memories that she and her family gave me will keep them all alive in my heart, forever. May she rest in peace. And may God bring comfort to her family.
So saddened to hear of Barbara's passing. There was and never will be another like her. Sending her family our prayers for comfort at this most difficult time. Tom Haffner & Family

All of us who knew Barbara delighted in being part of her world. She was one of a kind and enriched all of our lives.

Barbara mentioned you many
times in jackpot sessions
Keith very fondly indeed
I believe you were the 1st
Ringmaster at the park
Also a dance partner of
her's at Church Street
She touched so many of
us in very happy ways
(unless you crossed her)
Maybe it was Rosie O'Grady's
on Church Street Keith
which opened the same year
the park opened (I think)
"Good Time Emporium"
