This nurse is not Florence Nightingale, but is reminiscent of her era. Ms. Nightingale is featured in the March 2020 issue of SMITHSONIAN Magazine. Her successes against infection, contagion, and bad sanitation reduced 1880s fatalities from 44% to 2%. For her relentless pioneering advances, she is considered the most important nurse in history. She said her success came from never giving an excuse nor accepting one.
