Welcome to Buckles Blog. This site is for the discussion of Circus History all over the world.
I built these for the 104th Edition Blue Show
After the Rodeo Route They went to the Park
I believe it is Janice Gillespie later to become Mrs Mike Aria on the top right
I can only remember a few of these clowns by name but more of them by appearance How about some help here
Mike died quite young of ALS & Janice went on to run the education department at the "Polk Pachy Park" until it was sloughed by the heir
Sandy & Ron Severini on the 2nd & 3rd steps Mark Antony somewhat centered in a dark hat & jacket with his bell around his neck Antonio just left of the rotten little punk & Prince Paul Alpert on the right of him
The big clown jester head folded down into this cage for train travel height The Happiness Train had 2 central cars & a caboose that were pulled in sets of 2 by elephants "Fortunate Kiddies" got to ride the train in spec Ushers in the buildings did very well assigning those fortunate kiddies
It might be Terry Parsons seated under Mark's left
When I got to the park in June 1977, those cars were used for the daily circus parade held after the first show. Our operations team selected young guests to ride in the parad e and got to load and unload the little darlings.
Sure hope your team were tipped well I recall that Buckles crew took care of the power end of things
