Felix Adler was the featured whiteface then. He was titled The King of Clowns.
RBB celebrated the Golden Jubilee in 1933. They had been gone from Baraboo for many years by then, but General Manager Sam Gumpertz agreed with local efforts to return for a 1-night stand in honor of the brothers origins.
How Adler got the title 'King of Clowns'--- Joined the show in 1914 and missed 1918 and 1919 because of his service in WWI Returned in 1919 and from 1919 to 1946 never missed a performance. He left the show in 1956 because of the AGVA strike in 1956 He did come back for one final season in 1958. pj holmes
