Looks like a fairly young Baron Julius Von Uhl. He is the only one I saw in this country who used those top shield pieces. They jammed down into the tops of the sections, as you see. In Pomona one year, Julius worked, bowed, and left the ring. The boys dutifully tore down the cage, but Julius's assistants spent another hour banging angrily on the shields trying to remove them. They became the show, whatever act was in the ring.
