Don't know, but I remember seeing it. Like with the others posted today, my first thought on these walk-through trailers was locals with geezers and kids discovering trip hazards. A certain amount of crowd control may have been the idea, but I say 86 the steps, and let them enter through the dusty weeds.
I remember seeing it once in the 80s, maybe in Nebraska or Iowa. It definitely was not in use during the mid-late 90s for east coast dates. Jim Royal could probably shed some light.
