There is no date on the map

but this is from very long ago

The Zoo is currently operated by

the Wildlife Conservation Society

as show above the entrance

Is there a date on the back of the map? I would think it may have been printed sometime in the 70's or the 80's.

Friends in Tuxedo, NY, told me going to the Bronx for any reason was not worth the risk of traversing the hoods. I listened to them, and settled for afternoons at the Central Park Zoo. Central Park becomes a jungle of its own after dark, and I was uneasy last year to find my destination of the New York Historical Society stood across the street from the park.

I only have a copy of the front Henry

Your dates are very likely

Roger, I think your friends in Tuxedo, New York may have exaggerated a little. The neighborhood that surrounds
the Bronx Zoo is not that bad. Once you are inside the Zoo you would not believe that you are even in the Bronx.
If you are interested in visiting the Bronx Zoo I would be happy to meet you there and give you a guided tour of the
Zoo. I would wait until the better weather, the Spring, when more of the animals are out and about.

Not all that far from the Bronx Zoo is Arthur Avenue, the Little Italy section of the Bronx. If you like Italian food you
won't find any better. - Henry

The REAL Little Italy is just

North of Chinatown in lower

Manhattan gentlemen & another

is slightly East of downtown

Baltimore near Fells Point

Then of course there is the

really BIG Italy farther away
