RICHARD KING; Do you have any information on the King Bros Circus Bandwagon that I donated to the museum in the early 1970's? Last circus bandwagon ever built (Charlie Luckey the builder) for a traveling tented circus giving daily performances. Lee Hinckley (Bandmaster) did the gold leafing.....Last I heard, it was still stored at the rear of the barn...after being stored outside along with other donated wagons exposed to the harsh Wisconsin winters......

I haven't worked there for 16 years but IIRC it is stored in a shed down by the train shed.

Thanks so much...The wagon was there for thirty years before you left in 2002 (16 years ago). Was hoping you might have seen the Bandwagon....Anyway, thanks again for replying.....

I have seen it. I never got a close up look at it though. Management was very rail show/old time mud show oriented. Mostly because money for restorations came from The Great Circus Parade and the glamour wagons were top priority. Always thought there should be a truck show exhibit. But no $$$$.

Thanks Richard: As you said, no $$$$ was the standard reply given for no restoration. Having said that, when the museum was approached about the donation....It was all a different story. Restoration was to begin immediately which never happened. Not one penny was spent on the wagon ....as far as I know. The King Bandwagon was the last one built for a circus giving daily performances and parades. Believe you are right, the glamour wagons were top priority. Thanks again for your input.
