Col Joe was in his teenage

as shown here & was later

sold to Circus Krone in

Germany where he performed

up until his health failed

in 2010 & was sent to the

retirement facility run

by Sonni Frankello where

he died in 2012 at 48

He was a gentle soul

I'm not impressed with the

heart shaped headpieces

They look flimsy & cheap

Performing elephants deserve

better looking adornments

Last time I visited Rex, he was on Vargas, lamenting that this might be it for him, as there were no other herds to go to.

Kim Baer had worked over there with Joe, and cried for a week when he died.
