Chief Henry Tyndall trained this chimp, one of 3 Peggy chimps, for this picture, BEDTIME FOR BONZO. Reagan took such a ribbing for getting into this one, he refused the sequel, but no one ever let him forget it.

Chief Tyndall began with Louis Goebel's early Thousand Oaks operations, from Goebel's Lion Farm, to Goebel's Wild Animals, then through the 10 years of World Jungle Compound, and lasted through our Jungleland title, from 1955 to the bitter end, in 1969. In historic denial of the claims of other chimp trainers, it was Chief who trained the "Cheetah" chimps for all the 12 Johnny Weissmuller TARZAN epics, beginning with 1932's TARZAN THE APE MAN. He had them as the "Tamba" chimps for Johnny's 16 JUNGLE JIM entries, and the 7 TARZAN films with Lex Barker. His chimps also co-starred with Johnny Sheffield, as "Bomba" (formerly Tarzan's "Boy"), in that short-lived series.
