This is something. I'd never seen a photo of him at this age.

HE HAS BEEN NOMINATED FOR THE RING OF FAME. I WOULD LIKE TO SAVE SOME STORY OF HIM IF HE GET VOTED IN. HE WAS BORN 1904 AND DECEASED 1989. HE IS INTERNED IN LONE STAR SHOWMAN'S REST IN DALLAS.

HE PICKED UP "THE SHOW BEAUTIFUL " TITLE AFTER HE DID THE MICKEY MOUSE CLUB CIRCUS IN 1955 AT DISNEYLAND .

I believe Johnny & the Herriott

family worked on that show Casey

I first met the Herriotts on Gil Gray, when they played the Katy Ballpark, so named for the MKT Railroad--or the Katy. It was in a rough part of town, right on the tracks of course, down at 3rd and Webster. It was 1957, and I didn't think of it as a small show. Mr. Gray had The Flying Robins working at 40 feet, the Herriotts in 1st Class acts throughout the show, Cleo Plunkett announcing, the Jim Wong Troupe, and in Clown Alley he had Billy Burke, Bill Griffith, Lew Kish, and it might have been this season, he had Paul Jerome. I've always called it a gem of a show.

CASEY: For God's sake, I didn't know we had a Lone Star Showman's Rest in Dallas! Where the hell is it??
