Welcome to Buckles Blog. This site is for the discussion of Circus History all over the world.
Gloria & Nita (shown here) rode a pair of these buggies in the end rings while Trevor rode dressage in ring 2 As depicted here in the "Old Garden" #3
That tall curved gooseneck allowed the horse to turn completely around
Weren't the wheels trimmed in tiny lights? We were with Mr. Bale on Sally Chipperfield's Circus in England in 1983, where he presented Jim Clubb's liberty horses. A delightful man and he cooked a mean spaghetti.
Yes indeed Jim there were not only the wheels but the entire frame & gooseneck After many years in the barn much of the electrical stuff had deteriorated very badly They brought the 2 buggies to my shop where we replaced all the wiring & sockets as well as all the commutators
I guess they might be back in the barn yet to this day I'll have to ask Gloria
