Welcome to Buckles Blog. This site is for the discussion of Circus History all over the world.
These tremendous old lamps (bulbs are merely the glass) likely go back to the 30s They were made in different wattages & clear or frosted The standard "1K" was both 1000 watts & 1000 hours
They have mogul (large) screw bases & the bulb is of "Pyrex" glass They were used in many types of flood lighting mostly in open fixtures
This lamp is 6½ inches in diameter & 13" long
And how many do you still have in your warehouse?
Probably a few cartons of 12 Some clear & some frosted
After I left the park I started working for an electrical contractor in 78. Everyone has as all excited about the new mercury vapor light to replace those "old" incandescent lamps like those.
