Jacqueline Souren Zerbini

An incredibly multi talented

lady of every circus aspect

Her 3 daughters do her proud

A true Parisian Mademoiselle

Many were horrified for years when Jackie's rigging was always hung at the highest reaches of the buildings, sometimes so high her act could barely be seen. Everyone said that's how Tarzan wanted it. This reminds us of Frank Sheppard working so high many producers asked him to lower his crane bar so his act could be better viewed, but he insisted on working literally from the rafters.

At one point in his career, Frank Sheppard, performed with The Fearless Falcons (High Act) which included Orville and Myrtle LaRose. At one time the high act performed at the Steel Pier in Atlantic City.

Pierre Souren (sp?) was with us at Jungleland when he had that accident. The Compound had tried a $90K Sky Ride to bring in business, and it flopped overnight. One of the great concrete anchor pads became a stage for Pierre's break-away sway pole rigging. On this day, his break-away was released at the wrong time, and his legs were repeatedly shattered until the mast stopped swinging. One thing we knew about Pierre was his vocal anti-American sentiments. When his wife was due to deliver, he took her across to Mexico so his child would not be born in America.
