Ernestine and Parley Baer brought their girls, Kim and Dale, to visit "Auntie Mabel" Stark, who introduced us all in front of her tiger string, in June of '66. In the early summer of 2000, Kim, who was a graduate and faculty member of Bryman Med Tech School, knew that her mother was in her last illness. She put the phone to Ernestine's ear so I could offer my friendship once again. Kim told me that at 79, her mother's face remained unlined, and her hair had turned a beautiful silver-white. On Parley's 86th birthday, August 5, he was holding her hand when she quietly slipped away. She would have turned 80 in October.
