Back when I was in high school, I read a book about Carl Akeley telling of his work collecting and mounting specimens for museums. He also shot documentary movie footage of Africa and even designed a 35mm movie camera which was later used by other documentary filmmakers. As a young man, he was part of the team that mounted JUMBO's hide (which was later burned up in a fire.)
