Extra!

....this is the Curley Shafer I remember, as seen at 1000 Oaks with the MGM elephants!
Fred Logan said he and Curly worked the end ring elephant acts on the Ringling Show in the 1940's when  Richard Shipley was in charge of the Elephants!

May (formerly Mrs. Harry) Kovar, who came over with the Court entourage, eventually married Curly, and was May Kovar Schaeffer when she died in the lion attack, on December 20, 1949. There are the expected variations on spelling this surname. We know Curly certainly married more than once.
