Those extensions always looked

awkward & very heavy for poor

Tommy under an assumed name

He was a fine looking fellow

They are only 10 pounds and made of hollow fiberglass

At the distance of extension

the cantelever effect would

make them seem like much more

Try holding a 10 pound weight

in each oustretched arm Steve

You are correct in your figures Chic I believe that Tommy was MUCH stronger than myself. Even a moderate sized elephant can carry a howdie with 4 riders quite comfortably whereas that weight would crush a normal human being.

August 2017 TRAINS magazine (Kalmbach Publishing) again features the Ringling trains to include an interview with Joe DeMike, a piece on the destinations of several rail cars and a ten page spread with photos on the final train runs. A definite "keeper" edition.

There is no comparison to what

ANY elephant can cary on it's

back to what's cantelevered out

from it's upper jaw Steve which

is also quite different from a

short duration support of a girl

generaly closer to it's mouth

the ShowFolks retirement park

it was being cut up for scrap
