Many of us remember the terrible accident when Hugo and Victoria collided. I was told Victoria was first out and into the net. She either bounced too high or Hugo's projection was too short, and they slammed into each other, with both severely injured. The prop men carefully dropped the net to get to them. The crowd stood in shock, and a large number remained in the seats, awaiting word on the performers' condition. Someone might have a better description of this incident than mine.
Hugo's nephew and niece, Emanuel and Linda Zacchini, also suffered a collision, in 1970 in Jacksonville, FL. He said it happened because the temperature put off the timing.
