Another gorilla was played by Ray "Crash" Corrigan, seen on these pages as a well-received B-Western star. His gorilla suit was not as often used, but was featured when Republic Studios first ventured into cliffhangers. Their premiere effort starred Clyde Beatty in the 15-chapter DARKEST AFRICA, and Corrigan co-starred as the gorilla Bonga. Corrigan further branched out renting his Corriganville Ranch to movie companies. His son, Tommy, now has Corrigan's Steak House, out here in Thousand Oaks.
