Josip Marcan. Pretty sure this must be in the U.S., I think he had cougars in Europe before coming here, and this is one of his ligers. A big one!
It could have been taken when he toured Europe for the four years while he had another act on the Beatty-Cole Show. I might be wrong but I think Chris and Colleen had the act at that time.

I never heard that Josip was gone four years while Kris and Colleen had the act here on CBCB. Are you sure? What show/shows was he on over there then? Seems like I would have heard if he had transported or trained another act to work in Europe during that time, maybe I was too busy to notice. Which years do you think this occurred?
Hi Pat, I'm not sure of the years. I'll dig around and see if I can find some information. He was selling a lot of his color variations over there at the time. I'll try to find some info and get back to you. maybe with any luck, Josip will chime in here.

Okey dokey Bob. Jimmy Cole would know too. This looks like one of his pictures.
Pat, you are correct that it is one of Jim's photos. Josip contacted me this evening and provided the answers to this question.
"The picture on Buckles Blog of me and liger Bomay was taken by James Cole in 1986 on CBCB Circus,my first year on CBCB.You can see ring curbs in back ground.And,yes you was right,when I left to Europe in 1991 Khris and Colleen did work the act on Clyde Beatty.I took 23 multi-color tigers to Europe and worked on Circo Americano (Enis Togni),touring Europe and then 2 Years in Safari Park Ganserndor,Austria,before returning back to U.S."

Thanks Bob, learn something new everyday. Those were the years I was on an itty bitty Japanese show, Yano Circus, with a tiger act. We played small towns way up in the mountains. The show was very isolated, as was I. I got very little mail (no cell phone or laptop!), so it stands to reason I wasn't up on the doings around the world. I may have been on Mars, I'm still not really sure. Anyway, thanks for the info!
