Shavings are fine for appearance on the lot. A decent percentage of sawdust in the shavings is desirable for better absorption under animals. But as all trainers out there know, we use what bedding we can get. Most of us well recall when we'd go to cabinet shops and lumber yards and mills for sacks of bedding, only to find it was all gone--sold off for mixing into particle boards.
