#1 Polack Bros.

My wife came up with this picture off the Internet that we had never seen before.
Comes from the first publicity photos Parley Baer took of us while playing Chicago in 1965.     Elephant is "Opal" named after the Show's Executive Secretary Opal Paige.
The act was named "The Besalou Elephants" a combination of the Show Owner's names Louis Stern and Bessie Polack but nobody could remember it  and I'd hear "The Babalubas".....or "The Besalumas" Etc.

I've read in your comments that you don't remember the namesakes for all six elephants. I came across a copy of an article from White Tops, May-June, 1963 by J. Paul Rusk. This is what he says, "This new herd was called Polack's Besalou elephants after Bessie Polack and Louie Stern. Cathy (Kathy) for Louis Goebel's wife, Millie for Millie Ward, Betty for Betty Bell, of the Ward-Bell Flyers, Mary for Ross Paul's wife, Jean for Jean Merkle and Opal for Opal Paige, Executive Secretary for the Polack Show."
