You can have many more

opportunities Paul just

not at a performance of

what is left of Big Bertha

Many other circuses & zoos

will have elephants long

after we've gone

Let's hope other show producers will be willing to keep the true spirit of the circus and not fold under pressure from the animal rights crazies. Remember what old P.T. said about elephants and clowns.

What a sad slow decline to this final presentation

Hard to imagine a Blue Show mini herd of 6 bulls

& to not even have all 6 in the ring at the same time

Worse yet were the last 5 on Red in Wilkes Barre

So many of us would have lost our bets on this

Yes, the Streaming was some what disappointing. It was, at lest on my computer, not too bright and a lot of areas, quite dark. I am thankful that they did send it to us as a final bow. The Peta (not sure I got the letters correct) were still laying them out about the cruelty to the elephants. I guess they want them to go to animal parks and get them away from circus possession altogether. I some how after this win with the elephants, think they are are going to have a much stronger emphasis in all their other animal targets. I really do not understand what they want done with all the other animals. Are they suppose to release them from their doors and let them run free through the streets. I am not Biblical, but some how remember something being said about them being used to serve man. Well, I could be wrong in this mention. Does anyone realize all the great love and happiness that was given to the world with their appearances. There isn't a thing is the world, no matter how good it is, to not have a little bad some where along the road of life. Absolutely nothing seems to be all perfect, but in general there is more good than bad in most mostof everything. Seems like that's the way it was all put together in the first place. Please correct me if I am wrong but I believe the majority of R.B.B.& B. Circus' elephants are retiring age anyway.

Jackie,
Here are questions that should be asked of the PETA folks who stand up and criticize everyone who utilizes animals...what are their shoes and belts made of, are any of their clothes made of wool? We just lost the elephants at the Philadelphia Zoo because of protests. What's next on their list?

Darlene if I heard Jonathan Lee Iverson correctly the most of the six girls at Sundays show were born at the CEC. I think Buckles had Juliet when he went back out in the 90's (I remember him writing about the baby and her mom travelling from train to show in a special truck).
From what I understand there have been twenty something births at CEC. There are 40 something left in the herd. So maybe half are older, Mysore is near 70 and still doing well according to the media. The issue is the bulls are mostly past prime reproductive age, and the gene pool is shallow, so it's going to be hard to continue to grow more elephants. I'm no expert on this and have learned these things through several sources, so maybe the inside info folks will fill in the blanks.
