Codona donated one of his fly bars to Senator Harry Hertzberg, for his vast circus collection, in San Antonio. Leonard Farley, curator there for a dozen years, allowed me to hold it in my hands, and it was like touching the Holy Grail. This bar hung in prominence in the main room, but the latter-day librarians didn't know why. I was a regular at the Hertzberg to the bitter end, and a woman staffer at the time asked me why anyone would hang that swing up there.
