Ernestine Baer once told me that on the Hagenbeck-Wallace Show, Cheerful would do the "Head carry" down the front track and as the elephant swung his body from side to side like a Pendulum, the band would play, "Tell Me Pretty Maiden Are There any More At Home Like You!" and that his demeanor was anything but "Cheerful".
